RICK ROLLED?

By  Olivia Grech

Craving a soft, sweet, creamy dessert? Rolled ice cream is the new trendy dessert. The dessert is as simple as its name, rolled ice cream. How you make it is you make ice cream and poor it in a large metal pan. After you freeze the ice cream for a while, you take two cold, metal paint scrapers and just simply scrape the pan! Rolling up the ice cream creates a soft, elegant version of ice cream. Not just that, but rolled ice cream is a totally instagram worthy picture!

The only problem with rolled ice cream is that the nearest by store that makes rolled ice cream is all the way in downtown Los Angeles. So if you are dying to try some rolled ice cream, here is how you can make it at home. The ingredients you will need are ¼ cup milk, â…“  cup heavy cream, two tablespoons sugar, â…› teaspoon salt, a topping such as mashed up Oreos,a pan, a cookie sheet, and two paint scrapers. The first thing you need to do is mix the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and salt in the cooking pan. Once everything is mixed, turn on the burner and continue to mix the cream until the liquid comes to a bubble. Once this happens, turn off the burner as well. As soon as you do this, poor the ice cream into the cookie sheet. Next top the ice cream with your choice of topping and put the ice cream in the freezer for four hours. If you do any less than four hours, your ice cream will not roll, so the longer, the better. When your ice cream is almost done, put the two paint scrapers and bowl in the freezer for fifteen to twenty minutes. Now, it’s go time! As soon as you get everything out of the freezer you need to go very fast. Take the paint scrapers and scrape up the ice cream. When you do this, the ice cream should be rolling. Put the rolls in your bowl and your done! Time to enjoy!

SWIFT!

By Shruthi Nair

Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She spent her days with her grandmother on her grandmother's Christmas tree farm. Taylor´s grandmother was an opera singer, so Taylor soon followed in her grandmother's footsteps. Taylor was born to Scott Kingsley Swift, was a financial advisor. Her mother, Andrea Gardner Swift was a homemaker who had previously worked as a mutual fund marketing executive. Taylor Swift has a younger brother named Austin. Taylor spent the early years of her life on a Christmas tree farm. She attended preschool and kindergarten at the Alvernia Montessori School run by Franciscan nuns, before transferring to The Wyndcroft School. At the age of nine, Taylor became interested in musical theater and performed in four Berks Youth Theatre Academy productions. She also traveled regularly to New York City for vocal and acting lessons.

In 2003, Taylor and her parents started working with New York-based music manager Dan Dymtrow. With his help, Swift modelled for Abercrombie & Fitch as part of their "Rising Stars" campaign, had an original song included on a Maybelline compilation CD, and attended meetings with major record labels. October of 2006 and received generally positive reviews from music critics. The New York Times described it as "a small masterpiece of pop-minded country, both wide-eyed and cynical, held together by Ms. Swift's firm, pleading voice". Her single "Our Song" made her the youngest solo writer and singer of a #1 country song. After performing original songs at an RCA Records showcase, Swift was given an artist development deal and began making frequent trips to Nashville with her mother. At age 12 she was shown by a computer repairman how to play three chords on a guitar, inspiring her to write her first song, "Lucky You". She had previously won a national poetry contest with a poem entitled "Monster in My Closet", but now began to focus on songwriting. At the age of 20, became the youngest artist in history to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

In February 2016, Swift opened up the 58th Annual Grammy Awards with another track from 1989, "Out of the Woods." Having received pre-telecast awards for Best Music Video and Best Pop Vocal Album, later in the evening Swift won another Grammy for Album of the Year,  making music history as the first woman to win the award twice. In late August 2017, Swift revealed that she would release her sixth studio album, Reputation, in November. The album's first single, "Look What You Made Me Do," came out August 24. Reputation sold 1.05 million copies in the U.S. over its first four days. Along with giving the artist her fourth consecutive album to surpass 1 million in sales for its opening week, that total made Reputation the top-selling album of 2017.

"Delicate" is the fifth track on Swift's album, and it appears to be a little respite from her bold music about how she's owning her not-so-sweet reputation these days. The song even opens with Swift acknowledging that her name has been, well, a bit tarnished, likely as the result of public feuds with stars like Kanye West and just by general mistrust. "My reputation's never been worse, so you must like me for me" she sings. In the rest of the song, Swift describes an encounter with this mystery person. Some people believe that this mystery person might be, 26-year-old British actor Joe Alwyn. This maybe one of the reasons that Taylor Swift has not been seen in public for sometime. But Taylor Swift had claimed that the other 2 songs in her album, “Gorgeous” and “King of my Heart”, are definitely about  her relationship with the British actor.
